Dot Beans began with a dot—a moment of pause in the fast-paced life of Hui Sing, a young lady from Malaysia working as a risk consultant at one of the Big Four firms in Hong Kong. After years of chasing career success, she found herself at a crossroads, questioning the meaning behind it all. In search of clarity, she took a leap of faith—stepping away from her corporate role to rediscover herself.

Her journey took her across Europe, where she embraced different cultures and perspectives. It was in the cafés of Italy that she found her true calling: the art of coffee. Captivated by the beauty and precision of barista craft, she stayed on to complete her training and graduated as a certified barista in Italy.

After months of soul-searching, Hui Sing returned home with a vision—to bring the richness of Italian coffee culture to Malaysia. She wanted to introduce a simple, honest way for Malaysians to experience world-class coffee, without pretense. That’s how Dot Beans was born.

The name itself is a reflection of her philosophy. A “dot” marks the end of a sentence—but it’s also the beginning of a new one. It’s a pause, a connection, and a reminder that even the smallest point can spark something meaningful. Dot Beans connects people to coffee, and coffee to moments.
